林再圆移居加拿大，数年来痴心绘事，面对异国风情，创作出了一幅幅关于加国的画作。这批画作，是几年来再圆对异国他乡山川风貌的心景沟通之作，也是他运用中国传统绘画形式，表现异国他乡风情的尝试。
一、独上高楼望尽天涯路。
再圆自幼酷爱书画，其父望子成龙，遂携他拜同乡一代名儒林介如先生为师，习书学画。少年的他学画之余，也随师攻读古文和诗词。遥想当年辛亥革命，广东中山烽火尤炽，文艺之兴，犹当其冲。一九一九年林介如先生入读（广东）省立第一甲种工业学校美术科，曾就学于科主任－岭南画派祖师高奇峰先生，随即又得高剑父亲授，实为岭南画派先师之高足。介如先生将古代传统笔墨技巧与岭南画风相结合，应用于自然生活写生之中。再圆受介如先生之影响，在他日后进入广州美术学院再次接受岭南中国绘画教学时，更加容易入门。
岭南派绘画远溯唐、宋，注重骨法用笔，笔墨严谨，技法娴熟，又随机应变，贴近生活，更注重文脉传承，突现笔墨之后的文人情怀，还融汇了元、明时期的气韵风骨，注重画家的品格。岭南画家直面生活，更重视野外写生，常在详察细观景物之余，心有所悟，以借古而开今，形成了『外师造化写真迹，中得心源悟天机，岭南丹青不拘古，开拓进取创新意』的岭南画派独特画风。
二、衣带渐宽终不悔为，为伊消得人憔悴。
再圆广州美术学院毕业后，在中山市文化馆从事美术工作，他带领美术爱好者深入乡村，传道授业，带出了一批学生。一九八三年又返回广州美院再度攻读，专修中国绘画。
再圆曾在中山市博物馆及文物管理委员会工作，为了对传统文化的深切体悟，他利用对文物考古研究之机，加深了解岭南的历史演变及风土人情，撰写数篇论文面世，这使他在历史文化方面又有了一个新境界，这个境界对以后他从事中国山水画的创作提高了素养，奠定了基础，使他在观察自然的同时，具备了一个宏观的、透视的视野，这种观察是对自然形态的艺术彻悟。
受时代感染，再圆也曾一度弃文从商，从事过一段时间的服装、服饰设计和生产。从商的经历没有改变再圆对绘画艺术的痴迷，其间，他跨出岭南，足迹遍布大江南北，亲身体悟北国风光的茫茫沃野，华夏中原的太行风骨，五岳黄山的秀丽风姿、匡庐山林的神秘仙境，使他更加坚定了从事中国当代山水画创作的信念。
三、众里寻他千百度，蓦然回首，那人却在灯火阑珊处。
再圆移居到大洋彼岸的加拿大，面对异国风情，他心有迷茫，这里的景色应该如何表现在画上呢?这是他这几年的困惑。静思之余，他开始用岭南派绘画的笔法来表现加拿大的优美风光。在温哥华的个人画展中，他的画深得两国艺术家及社会各界的理解与欣赏，取得了初步的成功。这次再圆在国内的画展和画集的出版是他近几年来用心创作的集中展示，也是他送给家乡人民的一份礼物。
王国维《人间词话》曰：『古之成大事业、大学问都必经过三种境界：昨夜西风凋碧树，独上高楼望尽天涯路，此第一境也；衣带渐宽终不悔，为伊消得人憔悴，此第二境界也；众里寻他千百度，蓦然回首，那人却在灯火阑珊处，此第三境也。』若此，再圆应该是已实现了这三重境界的跨越，一步步在中国山水画创作中实践了从小我到大我的超越，从而实现了艺术境界的升华。
四、简评林再圆山水画的东方情结。
中国绘画历来讲究诗情画意，采用『意象』表现手法，是我国由魏晋南北朝及至宋代以来的文人墨客开创的『文人绘画』的艺术理念，讲究『诗情画意，画中有我，意在笔先』。可以想见由于这些画家本身就是大哲人、文学家、诗人并具有高品格与学养，由这样一批文人来从事书画创作，其书画创作水平之高，于是便有了王羲之的『兰亭序』、颜真卿的『寄姪稿』、苏东坡的朱墨画竹…等名作传世。
所谓『意象』，首推『意』，而后成『象』，这种『意』是中国文人卓越的思维理念，就绘画艺术来讲，就是将画家的『意象』落实到具象的表现过程，并给人以美好境界，为艺术的『真象』。这种艺术的『真象』，是艺术家的抽象思维模式，加工提炼升华之后的艺术表现。近代画家黄宾虹论山水画的创作曰『惟绝似，又绝不似，于物象者，此乃真画。』『心象造境』的核心就是『画中有我』、我心、我情、我志、我意，均与山水共鸣，物我两忘合二为一的艺术造象，这是与单纯写生绘画有着根本的区别，也是艺术家终生所追求既有意，又有象的唯美的绘画艺术境界。
再圆这批画作纪录了加国的山川风貌，也是他在加拿大艺术生活的真实写照，如：《乔木生云》山林边乔木一丛，姿态各异，枯茂相聚，红叶其间。《漫山芳菲》图中洛基山下，林深叶茂，樱花盛开，俨然一派生机。《春郊逸居》图几棵茂盛粗壮的老树，圪立于山道边侧，如神武壮汉，佑护着安静的居室，斜阳初照，薄雾散淡，正是春光明媚之时，一处逸人闲居，山青水秀，是作者梦想的家园。
《洛信雄姿》中洛基山主峰巍然屹立在画面中央，下边松林簇拥，云潦雾绕。整个画面苍峻、厚重、严谨，画出了洛基山脉雄伟壮观的气势。再圆对山是有着特殊的情感，不管是中国的山，还是异国他乡的山，他都注入了满腔真情去接近、去体悟，再通过艺术的加工，注入了自己独特审美理念，营造出自己的画面艺术境界。
《庐山五老》是他忆写庐山五老峰仙境而画，是五棵苍松，通过修炼而幻化为五个山峰和仙人的传奇故事，画面以淡墨为主，仙雾迷漫，云山一体，且层次清晰空灵，五位仙老在此畅游，或论道，或戏笑，或静观，或指点，或沉寂，营造了一种我欲乘风归去的艺术空间。
再圆正走在一条属于自己的路，路上一定会有更多的作品问世，这些作品会给人们更多的艺术感受，而让世人赏心悦目。
Zai Yuan Lin focuses all his enthusiasm on painting after he immigrated to Canada．He created many paintingsabout Canada when he saw such a beautiful place．He attempted to find a way to express North American’s naturalscenery by his national art--Chinese painting．
First：stand high to overlook tlle road．
Zai．Yuan is interested in art of beautiful handwriting and paintings since he was a child.To support his interest and help him develop the talent Of art，his father led him to visit Jie Ru Lin，a famous artist，and asked Jie Ru to be his son’s art tutor．In his childhood，Jie Ru taught him how to paint，read ancient articles and creat poems。After Chinese people experienced the Revolution of 1911(The Chinese bourgeois democratic revolution led by Sun Yat—sen who overthrew the Qing Dynasty)，China，especially Guang Dong province started the Renaissance．In1919，Jie Lu Lin studled art in Guang Dong provincial First  Technology School.His teaches included Ji Feng Gao and Jian Fu GaO：those two people were the founders of Ling Nan art faction。Jie Ru Lin combined Chinese traditional art skill and Ling Nan art faction’s realism．and Zai Yuan Lin was influenced by him．That is why Zai Yuan could get the principle of Chinese painting when he studied in Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts．
Ling Nan Art faction imitated the Jang Dynasty and the Sung Dynasty’s style．Also．the faction applied the Yuan Dynasty and the Ming Dynasty’s concept：the concept is that the artists’character is important because people can understand the artists’personality by 1poking at their pictures。Ling Nan Art faction’s artists Pay attention to the details of daily 1ife．and they always go outside drawing paintings．When they observe the scenery,they realize the mystery of the nature．
Second：never regret for working hard to make dreams come true．
Aner Zai Yuan Lin graduated from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts．he worked in Zhong Shan city museum。During that period，he led some painters to villages teaching young students art lessons。In1983．he re—enter to Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts of Chinese painting study．
Zai Yuan knew Chinese history and culture well because he observed and studied cultural relic and historic sites．He wrote several theses about Guang Doing’s history．This j ob experience provided him a cultural foundation to helphim understand more about Chinese painting．
When Zai Yuan quit his j ob and started his own business，he used his professional knowledge and art taste to design fashionable dresses and buttons．When he was on holidays，he travelled to Tai Hang Mountain，Huang Shan Mountain，and Lushan Mountain。On his j ourneys，he drew all views that he saw as good painting material．
Third：in the crowd,he stood under the dim lantern light．No matter how many times I seek him,he doesn’t show up obviously．
In the Vancouver Art exhibition in 2009 summer．his art talent was acknowledged by Canadian and other courttries’visitors．They all enjoyed Zai Yuan’s paintings because it was amazing for them to look at the familiar Canada scenery in Chinese paintings．In 2010 winter,he is going to put on another exhibition in his hometown Zhong Shan Citv。He considers the upcoming exhibition as a gift for his hometown people．
According to Guo wei Wang’s The poems of the world，people who want to be successful need to experience three steps．First，stand high to overlook the road．Second，never regret for working hard to make dreams come true．Third，in the crowd，he stood under the dim lantern light，no matter how many times I seek him，and he doesn’t show up obviously(It means to be modest)．
Fourth:Zai Yuan Lin’s enthusiasm for Chinese culture．
Poetic and pictorial：i‘magination is a significant element of Chinese painting．Since Zhou Dynasty,Chinese artists value the：i‘mpression that the painting leaves on the audiences than the artwork itself．Chinese artists usually are philosophers，litterateurs，Or poets；most of them are moral and knowledgeable，SO their paintings’quality is very high．
In Zai Yuan’S paintings，people can figure out his feeling about Canada and his imagination．For example，Cloud between the trees shows the red leaves．Cherry blossom trees are lively in the picture The flower fragrance Z．J full of the mountain．Rural life in sprin~suburb describes the artist’s ideal home．
The Robson Mountain is verV magnificent and grand in Majestic Robson Mountain．Zai Yuan loves mountains，so he tried verV hard to find the special angle for his painting of mountains in China and Canada．
There is a storv about The five old immortals in LuShan Mountain became immortals finally．The picture was draw by 1ight Chinese ink．so the fog is hazy and obscure．In thefog，the five old immortals are talking，laughing，or looking forward．
Zai Yuan has his own approach to his art career．By doing this．he will create more artwork and hopes people would enj oy them．
