Zai Yuan Lin was born in 1950 in China. He has shown his art talent since his childhood; therefore, his father recommended a famous and popular artist as his instructor at the age of 13. Since graduating from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1975, which is a well-known art school, he was teaching and painting in the cultural department of ZhongSan city of GuangDong province. In 1985, he became the president of ZhongSan museum because he is an expert at managing archaeology and antique maintenance. Since the 1970s, he has taken part in many provincial art expeditions and won a lot of prizes. He won one gold prize with one of his paintings, and ZhongSan city government exhibited this picture. Finally, Zhongsan city government gave this picture to the United Nations as a luxury present. His paintings are valuable and popular among art lovers because his art skill is based on traditional Chinese art. He is also a poet and calligrapher, so he writes his poems in his pictures and shows his beautiful handwritings as well. He was acknowledged as one of the 100 outstanding Chinese painters in 2004 not only because he made a great contribution in the art field but also his name is in many books, such as
and .In the same year, the Chinese Art association issued his post card in China.
In 2005, ZaiYuan Lin immigrated to Canada, and has since lived in Burnaby with his family. As a Canadian Chinese, he hopes he can use his pen to show Canada’s beautiful landscapes to the public.
